.KEY MESSAGES...
1. Clearing overnight will increase the potential for early
morning fog on Monday. Dense Fog Advisory issued.
2. Below to near normal temperatures continue through much of
the week.
&&
.DISCUSSION...
As a time warp happened last night sending us back one hour,
our weather have been sent back to cooler conditions this week.
Overnight tonight skies will clear out as a ridge of high
pressure briefly moves in. This ridge will help provide enough
of an inversion for a Dense Fog Advisory for most of the Valley
until 10 AM. Models as of 4 pm PST show a 20 to 30 percent
chance of visibilities down to a mile.
Temperatures warm up a bit on Tuesday with a 25 to 45 percent
chance of highs reaching 70 degrees. However, probabilities drop
to near 0 for 70s on Wednesday as a quickmoving shortwave trough
passes through. Temperatures will climb again beginning Thursday
and by next weekend there is a 30 to 70 percent chance of highs
of at least 75 degrees as another ridge of high pressure slides
in and builds. The CPC has a 50-60 percent chance of above
average temperatures in the 6-10 day outlook and a 40-50 percent
chance of above average temperatures in the 8-14 day outlook.
With the trough moving through late Tuesday into Wednesday, wind
gusts pick up along the Sierra Crest and Mojave Tuesday
afternoon through Wednesday morning before decreasing. Luckily,
it will be a more westerly flow. Sadly, we are not expecting any
precipitation with this quick moving system. All is not lost,
however, as the CPC has a 40 to 50 percent chance of above
average precipitation in both the 6-10 and 8-14 day outlooks. In
other words, Fall may really be here.
&&
.AVIATION...
Areas of MVFR/IFR conditions between 6Z and 18Z with KVIS having
a 20 to 30 percent chance of visibilities of 1 mile or less. VFR
conditions will become dominant slowly after 15Z.
&&
.AIR QUALITY ISSUES...
On Monday November 2 2026, Fireplace/Wood Stove Burning Status
is: Burning Discouraged in Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Merced,
and Tulare Counties, and Kern (Greater Frazier Park Area), and
Sequoia National Park and Forest.
